Hardware Performance

section-index · Reviewed 2026-11-03 GA

Two tools for the same question: which hardware should this workload run on?

Coretype Explorer compares coretypes on their published specifications, side by side. Use it when you want to understand the difference between two architectures before committing a run to either.

Performance Profiles answers it empirically instead. You pick one workload, run it across as many coretypes and core counts as you like, and the results plot as cost against time to solve. Use it when the specifications do not settle the question, which for real solver workloads is most of the time.

The two connect in the product: the Add Hardware drawer in a Performance Profile links straight to Coretype Explorer, so you can check a specification while choosing what to benchmark.

  • Coretypes for the individual coretypes and what they are for
  • Hardware for how the platform recommends hardware without benchmarking
  • Economics dashboard for spotting the workloads worth profiling
  • Templates for applying a benchmarked configuration to future jobs
